So this lady came through (not that I cared about this detail at the time, but she was muslim and had a hijab on), and she’s buying 6 pairs of children’s pants. She was asking about the return policy and I explained it to her kindly. When she was paying, her credit card declined several times. She kept asking me to take certain pairs of pants off and re-try. We got down to one pair, and it still declined. I’m not one to be rude to customer’s who’s cards are declining. I was being super nice to her and I told her it must be a problem with her bank. She thanked me for my time and told me she would check her car for cash, and if she had some she would come back to my line.I said okay, assuming she meant she would line up again. At this point due to the amount of times she re-tried her card, I had a line of annoyed customers building up. 
When I got to the second man in line, the lady came back and told me; “Good news! I have cash!” I smiled and told her that was great. I continued scanning people’s items without noticing that rather than getting back in line, the lady was still in front of me. When her and I made eye contact she said, “So, I’m after this guy.” I told her that that wasn’t how lines work and I couldn’t just let her butt in line. She became LIVID and started screaming at me asking me “WHAT DO YOU MEAN?” I told her I had a line building up and since her order wasn’t suspended and I couldn’t bring it back up, I would have to re-scan everything and that wasn’t fair to the other customers. The woman who was next in line was getting annoyed and told the lady that she could just go ahead of her and get it over with. “THAT’S NOT WHAT I’M MAD ABOUT” said the lady “I’M MAD ABOUT THE WAY THIS CASHIER IS TREATING ME, A CUSTOMER.” She then turned to me and demanded to speak to my supervisor. I just smiled and called her over, knowing she would have the same view that I did on the matter.
 I overheard her talking to my supervisor, not only telling an exaggerated version of the story, but throwing in “SHE’S RACIST. I’M SURE OF IT.” My supervisor, who is always calm and composed, said “Well mam, she can’t just let you butt in line.” The lady mumbled a couple words and stomped away to another cash. I was so angry I was shaking. Then, what looks like her daughter or someone related to her comes through and tells me, “you know, I’m sure she’s right.” I replied, “oh, that I’m racist?” “Yup,” she said, “she’s my elder and I need to respect that.” OKAY, LADY, THINK WHAT YOU WANT, BUT YOU WEREN’T EVEN THERE. 
I am sick and tired of customers accusing anyone who doesn’t agree with them of being racist, discriminatory or disrespectful. Not everybody is going to walk on eggshells around you, and if they did so simply because of your race, THAT would be racist.
